Limited Edition Cars

For the year 1971 (plus a few months prior), Mercedes introduced a new 3.5 liter V8 (M116) for theUSmarket.According to the brochure, only 1560 total cars were to be produced with this engine.

It was available only in three models:

·300SEL 3.5Sedan

·280SE 3.5 Coupe

·280SE 3.5Convertble

The 3.5 liter V8 engine was brought in to stay competitive withAmercianV8 cars.It was used for only this year which are now highlysought aftercars.The following year, both the Coupe and Convertible were discontinued.

These V8 models might have been available in Europe earlier in 1970.

The cars are shown in colorful pictures along with discussion in a few paragraphs.There are several detail pictures along with larger pictures of each model.

Dimensions:approx. 8.5” x 11”, simple foldout (bi-fold)

Condition:There are three filing holes, otherwise only light wear from handling
