New York - This is a photo of the architect\'s conception of the proposed new campus for the State University College of Education at Albany which will be relocated and expanded on a 220 acre section of the present Albany Country Club. Preliminary site planning has been completed by the New York architectural firm of Harrison and Abamovitz and has been approved by the State University Board of Trustees. Edward D. Stone, architect, also of New York City, has been designated by the State Department of Public Works as the architect to complete plans for further site development and design of building. It is expected that under the present schedule initial grading and site clearance work will begin in 1962. The new campus will have its main entrance on Western Avenue at the lower right hand corner of the picture. Dormitory facilities, to be constructed by the State Dormitory Authority, are under design and are scheduled to be ready for occupancy by 1964. Dormitory facilities front on the main entrance drive, at lower right. Academic building will occupy the area at the top center of the photo. Service building will be to the upper left section, and athletic fields at the lower left. Student enrollment at the new campus is expected to total 7,000 by 1970Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches.
