RARE 1960\'s COLD WAR VINTAGE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN CIVIL DEFENCE FIRE RESUCE WORK UNIFORM JACKET
TOUGH BLUE COTTON WORKWEAR JACKET - ORIGINAL RANK INSIGNIA
SIZE 50 MEDIUM - SERVICEABLE USED CONDITION - GRUBBY AND FADED
This is an original Cold War vintage Czechoslovakian Civil Defence Fire and Rescue troops working dress uniform jacket, this came from the stores of a large civil defence unit I cleared many years ago.
Made from a tough blue cotton with a coarse weave that feels a bit like heavy linen this uniform was designed to be hardwearing and design and finish are typical of Czech workwear dating back to the 1930\'s. The jacket has a button front, two button chest pockets, button inside pocket, lined shoulder yoke and a reinforced collar. The jacket retains its original metal rank insignia, it is dated manufactured in 1966 by Otavan.
CONDITION: Jacket is in as-found vintage used condition, just as it was found in a crate of used uniforms in the stores, I have made no effort to clean it, it is somewhat dusty and there are grubby marks and fade as you can see from the photos by aside from this general age related wear it is still in perfectly solid condition with a whole life left in it
SIZE: Jacket is labelled as Size-50, this equates to something like a MEDIUM, I am 5\'10\" and wear both Small-Regular and Medium-Regular and it fits me perfectly, on the tape measure it comes up as follows: 44\" chest (22\" pit-to-pit), 18£ across the shoulders, 18\" under-arm, 26\" from shoulder seam to cuff (Total sleeve length), 30.%\" from rear collar seam to bottom hem of jacket.
ONE ONLY, this is the very last example of these jackets I have left and I will be somewhat sad to see it go, when I originally got hold of these it was one of my greatest and biggest finds of vintage Civil Defence equipment. A nice piece for any collector of Cold War civil defence memorabilia and a very cool true vintage European workwear jacket for casual wear, hundrend times cooler than a generic French work jacket and built much tougher, you will not find another one of these in a hurry, DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE!
