When American singing star Joan Diener went AWOL from the cast of \"Kismet\" in London, her understudy, typist Sheila Bradley, 22, was given her chance to play the role of \"Lalume.\" She did so well that when Miss Diener returned, she was dismissed and Miss Bradley kept the part. So a star was born. This photo of Miss Bradley was made in the garden of her Barking (London suburb) home.Photo measures 7 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 9-24-1955.
