If you\'re looking for a unique gift for yourself, a horse lover, or the equestrian fan, you have found the perfect one! This lamp will give a bold statement to style or offer a retro-feel to any space.
This is a black Phil-Mar mare (horse) and colt standing or running in the tall grass. The beautiful jet-black glaze is set off by the marbleized white, found in the tails and manes.
In the 1950\'s, lamps of this nature were placed on a large TV in the living area where family often gathered in the evening. Unlike a regular lamp, the TV lamp emitted just enough light to highlight its beauty and provide a relaxed ambience in the room. This lamp will bring back the nostalgia of past decades and makes a great conversation piece.
The lamp is in very good working condition. The original light and chord are still in place. The wattage of the current bulb is 15 W. Once the lamp is plugged in, there\'s a rotating switch that is used to turn the lamp on and off.
The lamp is slender enough that it can be placed on a book shelf or a small side table. It measures 10 inches in width, stands almost 9 inches tall (8.75\") and the base is roughly 4.75 inches in depth.
At one time, I assume a piece of felt was placed on the bottom to avoid surface scratches. There\'s old felt residue on the bottom that can easily be removed or the base may be recovered to suit the lamps purpose/placement.
There are no chips, cracks or any sign of breakage. The light casts reflections that can resemble white chips so I\'ve taken quite a few photos to provide various angles. The white \"dot\" at the bottom of the main photo was a piece of storage Styrofoam. The last photo will show that it has been removed. : )
Please Note: I will pack the lamp in a heavy box with packing material. \'s recommendation is USPS Ground Advantage but it costs a few dollars more for USPS Priority Mail. An option for both is provided.
