Odd Piece I got in a mystery militaria box lot from estate lot in Oklahoma. Dated 1951, and still made of so-called WW2 style chocolate gabardine wool. Tailor made with officers name inside. The odd thing is that the name on the name plate does not match. Has Post WW2 U.S. Army Philippine HQ patch as well as the Philippine 18th Division WW2 Patch as a combat patch. Plastic back mounted Ribbons. All of the insignia except the Captains Bars are clutch back and post war. The Captains Bars appear to be WW2 and are pin back. Patches and insignia looks to have been on there a long time. Either the uniform was made up for veteran wear or it was purchased 2nd hand and worn by an active service officer which did happen (I saw it happen at least in the Infantry, especially with junior officers). Measures a size 38 chest (20 inches across from arm pit to arm pit). No moth holes and looks to be in very good shape. I see no evidence of any other insignia being on the uniform. Interesting post war uniform. Thanks for looking.
