This is a Live War Action Item form WW2. Very cool as a display piece or for intention use.
Most of these are completelyrusted over and have sadly lost most of their OD Green Paint.

Show signs of age and service.
The shovel blade is marked "US AMES 1945."
Total Length with Shovel extended is 28" Inches.
Still has OD Green paint on the metal in areas as well as some rust.
The shovel functions as you would expect and securely locks up in either position.
