Vintage photo WWII 1942-45 from US Navy Seabee WWII Guadalcanal & Ulithi Photo Album. Unfortunately he wrote nothing in the album. I do not have his name. With some short research of one of his named buddies he was one of the original 1942 group of Seabees. I finally figured out his original unit he served in with on Guadalcanal 26th BN. Then the 26th went to Alaska.
In 1944 he was reassigned with the 603rd CBMU(Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit) whenat Falalop Airfield,Ulithi, in the Western CarolinesAs mention I do not have his name. (just the usual me or myself written on some backs) Nothing written in album only on the backs of some of the photos and even then in light pencil.If anything written on back I will have a pic of the back in the listing.

On November 8, 1944, CBMU 603 arrive to perform general maintenance of the airfield and constructed a sewage-disposal system plus a 3,000 man galley, a refrigeration storage building, a butcher shop, an issue room, a bakery an officers’ mess, and shops for a landing craft unit was another important task. Other construction included enlarging and improving a finger pier and the removal of 10,000 cubic yards of coral to improve beaching facilities for landing craft. With the departure of the other battalions, CBMU 603 took over all construction, maintenance, and stevedore duties until V-J Day.
