Vintagefold-out 1942 Shell road map of Cape Cod and the Boston metropolitanarea,printed more than 76 years ago.

• The map opens to 18" x 27½"and has greatdetail on old street and highway alignments, withcartography by H.M. Gousha.
• It was published by the Shell Oil Company in 1942and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 12-P 1942-1.
• There's a war message printed in small type on the frontcover: "Allpoints of military interesthave been removed voluntarily from this map and index."
• A second message is printed in the margins above andbelow the map: "Maps are paper —Paper is important to our war effort — Help us conserve it by savingthis map."
• There's a summary of city traffic rules and a map ofdowntown Boston.
• Condition: This map is in very good, lightly usedcondition,, with some faint stains and tiny breaks at a couple of thefold corners.Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
