This is an Original 1940s or 1950s General Motors DETROIT DIESEL ENGINE Model 6-71 Promotional Model Mounted on an ASH TRAY Base.
It is made entirely of polished die cast metal and weighs 4 pounds. The engine is 4\" long, the overall height is 5\" and the ash tray base is 6\" in diameter. The engine is bolted to the tray.This promo engine could possibly be from the World War Two era because the 426 cubic inch 2-cycle 6 cylinder 6-71 engine was widely used in military applications, especially as adapted to landing craft, LSTs etc. by Gray Marine. The 6-71 was of course used in thousands of trucks, buses, construction equipment and stationary applications. The raised lettering on the rim of the ash tray reads \"DETROIT DIESEL ENGINE DIVISION GENERAL MOTORS CORP.\"CONDITION: The engine and ash tray are in beautiful, sparkling, all original condition with no dings, scratches, marks, cracks, chips or missing areas.Buyerpays USPS Ground Advantage shipping cost in the USA based on package size, weight and Zip Code.
