Very unique and beautiful 1940's lamp. This lamp features a 1940's tropical movement base made of porcelain in a ginger jar shape with wooden pedestal base and is adorned with fronds and flowers in magenta and emerald hues. What makes this lamp so fabulous is it's custom made and hand painted lamp shade, painted to match in the same colors and motif as the base (no information as to who, when, the shade was painted). Truly a one-of-a-kind lamp! In excellent condition; no chips or cracks to the base, though is covered with a fine crazing (see close up of base for reference) and no rips or tears to the shade, though there is some bleed-through on the inside of the paint in a few spots, as well as 2-3 small tan colored spots (see last photo for reference). When lit, the artists brush strokes and some light gaps in the paint can be seen, but is not detrimental. This handsome vintage tropical groove lamp measures aprox. 27" tall (to the included finial) and is 16" wide on the shade and 7.5" wide on the widest part of the lamp base.
