AUTOGRAPHS FROM BROOKMAN STAMPS & M JAFFE DUCKS - TOPIC - This is a nice piece of American political history. This is a letter sent from Herbert Hoover to Mr. Arthur K. Roberts of Portland Oregon on November 16, 1938 from Palo Alto California, return address Stanford University. The letter was sent by President Hoover to thank Mr. Roberts for the kind words on his campaign against the danger of The New Deal politics. This was at a time when there was a movement by some to re-elect Hoover which obviously never happened. Also included is a clipping from The Oregonian Newspaper regarding Hoover and his political status with the next election. There is also a clipped out picture of Hoover that may have come from a magazine. The letter is typed on the personal letterhead of Hoover and is watermarked Cranes Clavis and is excellent condition. The envelope has some toning on the seams which has caused some minor toning on the reverse of the letter. We guarantee this document to be authentic.
