1938 Vintage Press Photo by ASSOCIATED PRESS.Room for 100,000 Silver Bars.Mrs. Nellie Tayloe Ross, Director of the United States Mint, and Sigmund Solomon, Director of the United States Assay Office in New York, are shown inspecting one of the rooms in the new Silver Depository at West Point June 13. There are 23 of these cubicles in the huge depository, and each will hold 100,000 bars of silver. Solomon will have charge of the Depository.
