2 5/16 by 3 7/16 inch 1938 Dutch Gutermann Famous Men/Historical Figures trade card #78 James Cook (1728-1779), was a British explorer,cartographer and naval officer famous for his three voyages between 1768 and 1779 in the Pacific Ocean and to New Zealand and Australia in particular.He made detailed maps of Newfoundland prior to making three voyages to the Pacific,during which he achieved the first recorded European contace with the Eastern coastline of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands,and the first recorded circumnavigation of New Zealand.Card grades Verygood to Excellent-see scans.Winner pays $2.00 for postage and handling to the United States,$1.50 to Canada or $3.00 for International(greatly reduced postage for multiple lot winners-see below).Payment is required within three days of purchase.We accept Paypal and any other methods currently allowsas payment.Please check my store for more vintage/foreign trade cards of Historical Figures.
