Embossed cards issued in German SultanCigarettes package: Cards are from Luxusbild series no 28, 165. Cards measuresapprox. 2 1/16\" x 2 7/16\" (51mm X 62mm). Each card is in full color,embossed with an individual pattern. Cards are in new condition (look scan). Nomount damage on back, no creases and very clean. Back with text written inGerman.
About : DorotheaWieck : (3january 1908 in Davos, Switzerland – 19 February 1986 in Berlin, West Germany)was a German theatre and film actress. Whieck was born Dorothea Bertha OliviaWieck and grew up in southern Germany and Sweden. She was the descended frommusician Clara Schumann. Whieck lauched her acting career on stage in 1924 andmade her screen debut in German film in 1926, appearing in several silentfilms. She became widely know through her leading role in the 1931 film « Girl in Uniform ». Whieck appearedinaround 50 films and played on the stages of many large theatres in Berlin. Shealso worked as a theatre director. After world war II, she appeared in filmonly in supporting role, and she withdrew from films almost entirely in theearly 1960s.
