The 1931 Colonial Exposition/World\'s Fair in Paris is one of those expos that the majority of collectors know little if anything about. It certainly wouldn\'t be a politically correct topic today--celebrating all of France\'s colonies around the world! But the fair provided us with some very handsome medals.
You can see from the photo that the planchets are quite thick.
I am listing TWO separate sales from 1931 Paris--this one celebrating Africa/Afrique. The other separate listing is for Oceanie or the island colonies of France at the time.
ALSO--I\'m back as of May 7 for just an hour or two a day after my knee replacement surgery (What a wonderful treat!) but will get back up to speed as quickly as possible. It will still be a couple weeks at least before I can work full time again. I continue working on my 3rd book about the WCE, the comprehensive catalog of WCE tickets and passes, dozens of which have never been identified previously. It is not just a catalog, but a detailed history--lots of text as well as prices realized over the years, and so on.
