This is an original press photo. The famous pigeons of St. Marks Square in Venice have a worthy rival in their feathered cousins who inhabit the famous Lafayette Square near the White house at Washington. Not only are they protected, but as soon as cold weather sets in they are fed from a special fund provided in the appropriation for the Public Parks of the Capital City. Photo shows Officer E.D. Cooke, of the U.S. Park Police feeding the pigeons in front of the famous statue of General Jackson. Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 12-7-1929.
