Original wooden shipping crate for an Acme Reproducer Model K-1A speaker, please see pictures for details. There is no top, only what is shown in the pictures.
The crate is from around 1927, and it has significant fading/staining/toning/scratches/etc. The whitish areas in the first picture are from concrete dust, it appears to have slightly bleached the wood and also prevented it from toning consistently.
- Labeled for an ACME Reproducer Double Free Edge Cone Type K-1A Loudspeaker
- All writing on the side panels is stamped (debossed and inked) with the company name and logo in red and the specifics of what\'s in the crate in black.
- \"Open This End\" is stamped on the bottom of the crate
- Overall dimensions are approximately 19\" long x 16\" wide x 7-1/2\" deep
- Company logo/tagline says \"Acme for Amplification\" with \"of Cambridge\" in a band across \"Acme\"
If you do a search for \"HarvardDPWN0045\" you\'ll see an example of the speaker that was originally shipped in this crate. The speaker in the Harvard collection is from 1927, and it was shipped in a cardboard box, presumably they switched from wood to cardboard at some point and this crate dates to 1927 or before.
