I cannot find any information on \"Mauis\". However,the most significant feature of this bottle is the fact that it was made by the Root Glass Company of Terre Haute, Indiana. Chapman Jay Root started the Root Glass Company in 1901 and ran it until 1932, when it was bought by Owens-Illinois. The Root Glass Company was responsible for the 1915 patent of the iconic Coca Cola Hobbleskirt bottles.

This bottle features the beautiful characteristics of the old bottles, internal bubbles, fissures, and uneven bottom common with the primitive manufacturing process of the day.

On the heel of this bottle is \"ROOT\", and the number \"22.\". I\'d say that would be the date of the bottle.

The bottle is about 112 years old. The brown bottle is beautiful with no chips or cracks. However, it does have significant wear. It does have internal chips, as shown. Nice bottle for the price.
