This sale is for a rare original antique illustrated The Edlund Company Can Opener 2-sided advertisement. This brochure was removed from an advertising scrapbook that it was kept it in for roughly the last 100 years. We are unsure as to the advertisement’s exact age but are fairly certain that it dates back to the mid to late 1920s. The advertisement is marked in part as follows: THE EDLUND CAN OPENER FOR HOUSEHOLD USE. NO MORE RAGGED FINGER RIPPING EDGES. SAFE. SIMPLE. QUICK. OPENS ANY CAN. ROUND, SQUARE OR OVAL. LARGE OR SMALL. A GUARANTEED CAN OPENER. EDLUND COMPANY, BURLINGTON, VERMONT. The advertisement includes a few illustrations and/or images. It measures roughly 6 1/8” x 3 1/2”. The advertisement has aging, yellowing, discoloration, wrinkles, scratches, dirty and/or stained areas, manufacturing imperfections, and indentation marks caused by the brochure sitting and being pressed against another advertisement when it was originally sitting in the scrapbook that it was removed from. It was attached to the scrapbook page using two circular tabs (half of each tab was adhered to the page and the other half was adhered to the back page of the item). This created a hinge-like effect. Part of both of these circular tabs are still adhered to the back page of the advertisement (see pictures). The advertisement appears to be free of any rips or tears.
