~ April 5, 1924 ~Original large format 4x5\" film negative. Photographed at Carbondale in 1924 by the documentary photographer Charles Medin. Up the street on the left is a sign for Maple Street.

Charles Medin was artist/photographer and then assistant editor of the Illinois Central Magazine, circa 1900s to 1949. His images are well-known to railfans as he documented railroads and city street scenes across the Eastern & Southern states.
