The scene depicts Marianne, a female personification of the republic leading French troops into Battle. She wears flowing robes and is standing holding a Battle torn French flag in one hand, a sword raised in the other hand.
Reminiscent of the famous 1830 painting by Eugene Delacroix "Liberty Leading the People"
Georges Bertin Scott (1873-1943) He was a war correspondent and illustrator for the French Magazine L'illustration during the 20th century
The poster is marked Devambez in the Bottom left corner. Devambez was a fine printing firm in Paris
