In this listing we are offering an original 1915 real photo post card of \"Sunday\'s Tabernacle Phila., Pa\". Billy Sunday the baseball player evangelist is shown on the background in an oval over the top of his tabernacle. The card postmark indicates that it was mailed from Philadelphia, Pa. to Lime Ridge, Pa. on 16 March 1916. There is a note on the card making it obvious that the sender had gone to hear & see \"Billy\" Sunday. The note says: \"Tell Clara \"Billy\" is all right and doing a good work.”
William Ashley \"Billy\" Sunday played baseball in the National League for the Chicago White Stockings in the 1880\'s & he later played for the Philadelphia Phillies. In his career of roughly 40 years as an evangelist he preached approximately 20,000 sermons.The photographer\'s mark \"Deer.\" is at the bottom right corner of the photo. The photo measures 5 3/8 inches by 3 3/8 inches. The corners & edges have some wear & there is crease at the bottom right corner. Otherwise, a very good, pleasing, & historic photo. An appealing RPPC image with the note on back connected with this famous baseball player evangelist adding interest to the card. This photo recently turned up in a Lancaster County, Pa. estate.Please examine the clear photos that we have provided & purchase based on your own opinion as to the condition.
