1900s Antique Art Nouveau Brass Candlesticks – T. F. McGann & Sons Boston, MA:

This is a really great set of matching solid brass candlesticks that are stamped on the bottom \"T. F. McGann & Sons.\" Each measures 9.5\" tall with a base diameter of 4\". They are very heavy at almost 2 lbs. each.This company was famous for making bronze and brass sculptures, plaques, candlesticks, statues, and architectural and decorative items in the 1900s all the way up to the 1960s. I can\'t tell the exact age but I\'d say by the style that they are 1920s or 1930s. They have a very refined design, almost art nouveau.I can tell they have been polished many times and the last time it was polished was probably in the 1960s. They do have a little bit of a patina.Both are in very nice condition. The very top lip of both have just a very subtle bend but this can probably be straightened with the right tool. One of the candlesticks has a very slight bend from the top to the bottom (see first picture, the one on the right). I guess someone dropped it at one time but it would not take much to straighten it.Please ask if you have any questions. Check out my store for more neat and obscure antiques.
