1900 dated Fred Dunlap cabinet card published by Fowler of Philadelphia. Dunlap is considered and was considered one of the greatest second baseman of the 19th century. For a period he was the highest paid baseball player in the world. Dunlap was born and raised in Philly. He died there at the age of 43. Dunlap squandered away his MLB earnings on bad investments. He wasn’t well liked by his MLB peers. His funeral didn’t have a big turnout. Dunlap hit .292 career. 1884 UA batting and home run champ. Negro leaguer and Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Grant spent time in Philly. Grant is and was also considered the top second baseman of the 19th century negro leagues. One of Grant’s moniker’s was the “black Frad Dunlap.” I also have a Fowler Frank Grant listed. Dunlap cabinet is a little under 5 by 7 inch in size. Stains, tong and wear. Markings on the back.
