18th century Rum Pirate Bottle:

I have many of these bottles and I’m listing a few and they have a very interesting story. My father who was a B-25 pilot used to fly down to Brazil back in the 60s picking up and delivering cargo. While he was there during his interaction with the natives he noticed the bottles all over their huts. The bottles were sourced from the bottom of the Amazon river and offshoots. During the mid 1700s pirates would hide from the British up the Amazon in these inlets. Drink their rum throw them off the boat, and the natives would pick them up out of the river to use for various things. These bottles were identified by my father collected and brought home and they’ve been sitting in boxes for the last 60 years. So I am selling a few to collectors. As a sidenote, these were looked at by someone in the industry that knows antique bottles and they were given a date of mid to late 1700’s. This particular bottle measures not quite 8 inches tall and about 5 1/2 inches wide at the base.
