We are offeringa very old,Asian 18th / 19th c., Ceremonial Statueof the Hindu God Ganesh (Ganesha), with hismouse at his feet (representing ego).The depictions of Ganesh are found throughout Asia.Devotion to Ganesh is widely diffused and extendsto Hindu's, Jains and Buddhists.
Ganesh is honored at the start of rites and ceremonies,and thought to be the remover of obstacles and tobring good luck.
This large heavy statue is brasswith a green & gold patina.
