1896 Brass Detailed Photo Album Filled With Photos Erie Pa.:

This is an antique late 1890s Victorian style photo album. The outside shows much wear. It is velvet with flowers and has what appears to be brass detailing on the edges. There is a mirror on the front with brass detailing around it and a beveled edge on the mirror. The clasp is metal it works. The edges are gilded on all outside edges of the pages. The album itself is made of wood covered with the Velvet material. There is a bar that goes across the back, not sure what that is for. There are 57 pictures total. All pages are filled except for the very last pages. There are loose photos as well in the back of the book. The pages are made of a heavier cardboard, but they are paper front and back, so there is damage to a lot of the pages from trying to get the pictures in and out, I assume. A lot of the pictures are labeled with names. the photographs come from the Erie area of pennsylvania. The names that I see in the book are the last names of Gray, Nichols, Curtis, and Hayes.
