The Grand Russian Railroad, commonly known as the Trans-Siberian Railroad, extends from Moscow to Vladivostok, Russia, connecting east and west Russia in the longest railroad route in the world, a distance of 5,771 miles. Construction was started in 1891, and the first train operated in 1903. The line was critical during World War II for transporting supplies to the eastern battle front and in evacuating people to the west. For sale is a very rare document, a bond issued by the Imperial Russian Government to help finance the road. The bond is for 625 metallic roubles and carried an interest rate of 4%. The line was critical during World War II for transporting supplies to the eastern battle front and in evacuating people to the west.

For sale is a very rare document, a bond issued by the Imperial Russian Government to help finance the road. The bond is for 625 metallic roubles and carried an interest rate of 4%. The total offering was 30 million roubles.  Language is in Russian, English and French. 

The bond measures appx 15 1/2 x 12 inches and is printed on mid-weight paper. It is in very good condition, even though it is now over 135 years old. All writing/marking are from its issuance and processing. It has no rips or tears. The left side is irregularly trimmed, from the prior removal of interest payment coupons. It has been folded.
