Fantastic and original cabinet card photo measures 5 by 8.5 inches and has moderate staining and mount flaws. This company was founded in 1884 and was Florida\'s oldest hardware store before it closed in 2022. It was founded by Mssrs. Mackinson and Katz who arrived from Baltimore, Maryland in the early 1880s. Moses Katz was one of the first Jewish families to arrive in the area which is located slightly South of Orlando in Osciola county Florida. A black man on the right is driving a donkey-drawn cart. The building pictured burned to the ground in 1900s and was replaced as the company grew and Katz was bought out by his business partner. This image was created by George Washington Woodall, who might have been the same person with that name who fought in the Confederate Army in the Texas 14th Regiment. Everybody in this photograph is identified by name making it an important reference for Historians and genaelogists alike. This is an exceptional photograph and important piece of Florida\'s Jewish heritage.
