History:

Hall Elton & Co., manufacturers of silver plated goodswas established in 1836, when Jacob Hall and Willian Elton began themanufacture of the Britannia ware on the site of the plant of Simpson, Hall,Miller & Co.One year later Deacon Almer Hall was associatedwith them, the firm took the name of Hall, Elton and Co. Robert Wallace who hadbecome a skillful workman in the German silver, entered the employment of thecompany and it soon needed larger quarters.They secured a newfactory on the river higher upstream from the old one.A largenumber of people were employed to manufacture german silver tablecutlery. Other on line notes say teh company changed quarters yet againandbecame a corporate body in 1850. I found notes that in1889A.S. Chase was the president of the company. There is allot of dataonline supporting the exposition fairs etc that they received recognition fortheir works.
