This antique clock from Seth Thomas is a true gem for collectors and enthusiasts alike. The negative--it\'s missing the bottom calendar dial, although I believe the mechanism should still work if connected. I DO have the small lever that connects the calendar mechanism below to the mechanism above; it looks as though it could be easily reconnected if someone knows what he or she is doing--but I don\'t. Also, it ismissing a little bit of fascia and one of the filials (if I were going to keep it, I\'d probably remove the other).
The positive--oh my gosh WHAT A COOL PIECE! It seems to keep time really well and has a very nice chime that dings on the hour (see video). There is a newspaper clipping inside it from the year 1940. Inside the clock on the door is a lengthy explanation of how to use the clock, along with what does to be the manufacture date (1878), and the date it was passed to someone(?), Which is 1903. What a unique and beautiful piece of history this is! I make ABSOLUTELY no guarantees except that the clock portion and the chime still works as described, and that I will ship it carefully.
