Stereoview photograph of a scenic waterfall inPembroke, New York, by Langdon & Tallman of Batavia, New York, circa 1870s.The view, from the series Batavia Scenery and identified in ink below the leftphotograph as Indian Falls, shows a waterfall cascading over the edge of a lowrock ledge and filling a rock strewn pool below. Indian Falls is located in thetown of Pembroke, New York, just west of Batavia in Genesee County. Langdon& Tallman worked in Batavia, New York, in the 1870s. Charles W. Tallman(1834-1913) likely did most of the photographic work. He was living in Bataviaand gave his occupation as Photographer in 1870 and Daguerrian in 1875. Theirstereoviews seem somewhat rare. The stereoview is in good or better conditionwith light wear and soiling. The photographs exhibit good or better tonal rangeand show good or better detail. There is a brown stain and paper residue at topin the left photograph. A nice early Pembroke NY image!
