Stereoview photograph of a bridge and buildings inNiagara Falls, New York, by Langdon & Tallman of Batavia, New York, circa1870s. The view, from the series Gems of American Series and entitled GoatIsland Bridge and International Hotel, Niagara, shows road over a trestlebridge with the buildings of a town and a large hotel in the near distance. Thesign over the bridge reads To Table Rock, via the Ferry below the Falls, 60Rods distant from this Bridge, Ferriage Over & Return, 50 Cents. Langdon& Tallman worked in Batavia, New York, in the 1870s. Charles W. Tallman(1834-1913) likely did most of the photographic work. He was living in Bataviaand gave his occupation as Photographer in 1870 and Daguerrian in 1875. Theirstereoviews seem somewhat rare. The stereoview is in good to very goodcondition with minimal wear and soiling. The photographs exhibit good to verygood tonal range and show good to very good detail. The left edge of the rightphotograph is lifting up from the card a bit. A very nice early Niagara FallsNY image!
