This PRE-CONSTRUCTION contract is to \"purchase a piece of his land\" in order for the SALEM RAILROAD COMPANY to build the Salem Railroad over this portion of land. The date of this contract is: \"...this twenty fourth day of January A.D. eighteen hundred and sixty-one\".
