Note: As you will read below, it is the Most Rare of the Lincoln political campaign tokens. And this one is in extraordinary condition. Most all of these 160 year old historical artifacts that are discovered have the images completely or partially rub or scratched off. Or the images are very dark or blurry or experienced heavy corrosion. In particular, the Johnson image for some odd reason is almost always rubbed off, but as you can see here the Johnson image is Astonishingly Pristine!
Condition: This breath-taking specimen has exceptional photo clarity and tone and the images have survived intact without the typical seen scratches and corrosion. Again, something you will NOT see in 99% of these that appear on the market! Stunning gold rim with original candidate lettering and hole for loop.
This gem looks even better in person with a gorgeous light vintage patina and crystal clear images that still maintains some of its original gloss. . Only when you digitally enlarge the image can you detect very light minor abrasions on the Lincoln side, not noticeable with the naked eye in person. You’ll be hard pressed to find one in this Amazing condition again! . Comes in attractive protective case (* See images above)

For those who are not seasoned collectors of Abraham Lincoln campaign memorabilia and 19th century brass token ferrotypes, this is THE most Rare of the Lincoln campaign tokens.
NOTE: 1864 Lincoln ferros are considerably tougher than those from 1860, probably because numerous varieties with cardboard photos, sold more cheaply and stole much of the market in 1864.
DETAILS:Approx. 1 in. diam. gilt brass pin featuring 5/8 in. diam. ferrotypes of Lincoln and Johnston on the obverse and reverse, respectively . Obverse with legend \"For President / 1864,\" reverse with legend, \"For Vice President / 1864.\". Lettering exhibits little or no wear.
