Here is an ORIGINAL Land Grant Document - to the, \"Granting of Land to certain Officers and Soldiers\" for their Military service to the United States. This issue was WARRANT NO. 57,341 and issued in favor of (by) Abraham Kidmon, Private in Captain Patterson\'s Company of the Tennessee Volunteers, War of 1812.
This document issued 80 acres of land in Kanerville, Iowa to Jepo (?) Williams, and his wife, from his assignment / enrollment into Captain Patterson\'s Company of the TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS. Both of these folks used their \"X\" ( not their signatures ) to legally receive this land grant. This land grant was issued under the direction of U. S. President FRANKLIN PIERCE (1853-1857) - but signed by his office Secretary.
