This print was given away as a premium souvenir if one subscribed to Sartain\'s Union magazine for the whole year of 1850. The advertisement for this engraving appears in the November and December 1849 issues of Sartain\'s Union Magazine. See pic of ad.
This engraving is not to be confused with the much later \'The Washington Family\' John Sartain print which is quite common. This is the early version, printed on fine paper and with the title on the top that appears in quotations in the beginning of this listing.
Condition is overall very good, one small area of discoloration. Is not glued to poster board and is behind shrink wrap. can be removed and put in a frame. There are no others examples of this on .
