This collection of postcards depicts Chemin des Dames (Ladies' Way), a route in France on a crest between two valleys with a name that evokes charm and elegance. In World War I, it was the site of one of the deadliest conflicts. Today it is an open-air museum with many monuments to the fallen.

The booklet of antique French postcards features the aftermath of the second battle of the Aisne (1917). Included are photographs of ruins and destruction in La Malmaison, Laffaux, Pinon and Anizy.

18 black & white postcards separated by tissue paper.

French & English texts.

Condition: In good to VG overall condition, some tissue paper may have creases or tears. Corners and edges of cover show some wear; back cover has several small holes (see photos). No writing or stamps on cards; they are unused.
