1796 pattern British infantry officer\'s dress sword and scabbard. Napoleonic Wars period. With gilt brass hilt, fixed guard, silver simulated wire covered grip. 33 inch blade etched three sides. A very attractive sword with fine detail. Wear to gilt, blade tarnished in need of polishing, free of chips and pitting, grip tight and clean. Leather scabbard split and open at tip and missing chape. Blade firm in handle. 39 inches overall.
