12\" Hand Painted Rose Platter. One of a Kind.:

This beautiful one of a kind antique platter hand painted and signed L Etzler 1906 without any maker\'s mark.

The Etzler name is German in origin and is found also in Czechoslovakia and the USA.

The design is unusual in that the roses are yellow, whereas they are more usually pink in this genre. The roses are wild or dog roses and the three design elements are linked by leafless thorny stems. Some of the rose leaves are browning and the whole has an autumnal feel.

12\" scalloped rim with gilt decoration. No cracks or chips and it rings true.

Overall a lovely decorator piece.
