12 new old stock, unused Japanese vintage pencils. All with JIS logo, all HB. Brands: Tombow 8900 x8 [various age, from 1970s to 1990s] Tombow x2 [late 1960s] Tombow x2 (logo only) [1970s and 1980s] All are customized, with advertiser messages (Traffic Safety, NEC, Board of education, towns, Fire Department, etc.) Hardness: HB Date: probably 1960s to 1980s Condition: NOS, unused. Abrasions, chips, loss of gilt on letters, several with scaling and loss of paint. Japanese pencils are among the best pencils made in the world. Pencil manufacturers often added messages on pencils from companies, universities and sport meetings. They were usually given away, and are subsequently more difficult to obtain.
