NOTE: I think these might be original ink drawings of people from the Southern states in the mid-1800\'s, but I cannot guarantee the originality of these items. I tried looking up names and couldn\'t find anyone or any affiliation with a Southern Plantation (maybe a smaller holding?).
Anyway, these 3\" x 5\" white cardstock pieces each have an ink drawing of a person. There are 11 cards. I am guessing the age to be 1850-60\'s if they are actually originals. See below for individual item descriptions for the 11 cards. Each card has an ink description of the person, on the back side, so, I am starting each description with the identifier:
--Mary Hazelitt Lamb, wife of Arthur Lamb, born 1805. Front image features a middle-aged female facing right--Arthur Lamb, Master of Lamb\'s Green. Born in 1803. Front image is of an older male, facing left, with a goatee and bow tie/suit.--Senator Robert Lamb, only son of Arthur and Mary Lamb. Born in 1827. Younger male with a pencil moustache--Reuben Anagke, son of Zedikiah, owned by Arthur Lamb. Secretary and companion to Robert Lamb. Born 1826. Black male, facing left, with goatee and bow tie.--Zedikiah, formerly body servant to Arthur Lamb and freed by him. Born in 1803. Black man with white hair, facing left.--Euphemia, wife of Zedikiah, a freedwoman. Born in 1801. Black female with grey hair in a bun. Wearing glasses and facing right.--Pearl, daughter of a field hand mother who died when she was four and an unk father, a favorite of Arthur Lamb\'s. Born in 1850. Image of a young black female with her hair in bows, facing right. Sunlight yellowing to the lower right of the front side.--Bell Hazelitt Pierce, wife of Edward Pierce, sister to Mary Lamb. Born in 1807. Middle aged female facing right, with her hair in long ringlets.--Charlotte Pierce, daughter of Edward & Bess Pierce, cousin of Robert Lamb, soon to become the wife of Phineas Dangerfield. Born in 1841. Image of a young female with her hair in long ringlets, facing right.--Phineas Dangerfield, a gambler, husband to Charlotte Pierce. Born in 1826. Middle aged male with a moustache, facing left. There is a small piece of paper over his left eye, which looks like a correction to the original drawing of the eye.--Emily Kendrick, a distant cousin of Edward Pierce, companion to Charlotte Pierce, shortly to become engaged to Robert Lamb. Born in 1837. Image of a young female with dark hair, facing right. Sunlight yellowing to the back side (not on the front)
All images/cardstock shows slight wear due to age. Other issues to individual pieces has been noted in the description.
