We have for sale ten yards of natural, heavyweight, undyed raw silk. It is 45\" in width and is sold by a continuous piece ten yards long. If you buy two, you will receive a continuous piece twenty yards long. The rolls we are selling now have a tag that is dated 1968. It is \'nubby\' to the touch with small, little balls and bumps throughout. It is a nice neutral cream or off-white color that is speckled with darker brown pieces which gives it a warm, inviting look. It has a tight weave as shown in the closeup photos. It is very pleasing to the eye. It is pretty stiff (reminds me of heavy cotton with heavy starch), lays very well and does not wrinkle easily. I have dyed this in the past and it takes dye very well. This material is very versatile in it\'s uses. It is extremely durable. Raw silk of this weight and quality is not available anywhere without special order. Maybe. Research shows it to be twice the weight of what is available commercially. A 36\" x 45\" piece weighs in at 13 - 14 ounces. Once this material is laundered, it becomes soft and is no longer stiff. The fibers relax and it takes on a softer look.The numbers don\'t lie; we\'ve sold over one-thousand yards here on E Bay and have many repeat customers.
