“The Circle Of Life” Norman Pierce 1974 Red Cloud Handcraft Native High Plains:
$79.95

A framed circle piece, crafted of trimmed pheasant feather, was created in 1974 by Norman A. Pierce, of Red Cloud, Nebraska. The feathered circle is centered on a brilliant turquoise mat, anchored with a plastic type center, and framed in a weathered wood frame. In good condition with some wear on the frame.

On the back is a hand-typed description of the art which was typed by his wife, Mary, and signed by Norman A. Pierce.

“The Circle of Life”

The circle of life has no beginning and no ending. We are born sometime, somewhere, we live and grow, we work, we play, we love, and then we die. Death is a difficult doorway, through which each of us must pass, to a better life.

When we are young, we have our parents around us most of the time, our relation and Friends, our circle of life is quite large, but then as we grow older, our circle of life gets smaller and smaller, but hopefully a lot better.

Then, sometime, somewhere, maybe when we are very old, or maybe when we are very young, our body dies, but our spirit lives on forever. Death is a very natural thing and everything has to die in order to live again.

The meaning of the colors is as follows, black stands for death, something that comes to all of us., Green stands for mother earth, from where our body came, and where our body goes when we die.

The golden feathers stand for the many golden memories We will have if we do kind deeds toward our brothers and sisters, all our life.

The little white feather that you see, stands for the peace and purity that one must have their hearts in order to live in peace with their fellow human beings.,

The little red that you see stand for blood, or life, one has to have good blood in their veins in order to be alive to do creative things.,

Now, then, may the Great Spirit cast a rainbow of good luck over your shoulder, and may your trail not be filled with rocks and dangerous places, is my Indian wish for you and yours.,”
