Lamp \"Space\"

Large, height 39 cm, diameter 15 cm,

the massive body is made of colored polymer plastic, fashionable at that time, the lower part of the night light stand is decorated in a circle with propaganda images - miniatures of “Achievements and victories of the Soviet People”. The product is marked, on the bottom there is an imprint of the factory mark, the USSR quality mark and the price.

The release of the night light is dedicated to the tenth anniversary of Yu. A. Gagarin’s first space flight. Initially, in the design documentation the working title was “First Launch into Space”, but was later replaced by the shorter “Space”, this example is from the first batch of January 1971.

The night light immediately became popular with Soviet buyers, even though it was quite expensive for that time - the selling price was 18 rubles, which was equal to about a sixth of the salary of a Soviet person. But oddly enough, the “Space” Night Light went on retail sale in small, limited quantities; most of it went to awards - as valuable gifts for leading production workers and party functionaries, which aroused sustained interest in the product.
