These seven (original medals) are the second type, the one with the ball holder.

From left to right, top to bottom:

1) Two Bars: Champagne - Marne & Defensive Sector

2) Two Bars: Meuse - Argonne & Defensive Sector

3) No Bars

4) One Bar: England

5) One Bar Overseas

6) No Bar

7) One Bar: France

For service During WW1, also called the Victory Medal. It could had been won Posthumously. These are period medals.

I would say that this is the most difficult and rare medal to acquire from the WWI Victory medal series!

The way to defiriencete between this medal and the Repro Type-1 is very easy. Count the rays on Liberty’s head. 13 Rays will be for theType-1 (Wire-Loop) & 11 Rays for the Repro Type-1.

There are 13 Rays Present, therefore, itstheType-1 (Wire-Loop)! Look picture 4, if you do not find the other two (2) rays, look close to the neck on both sides they are there. The repro omits those two.
