Here\'s ascarcethree piece SHEAFFFER\'S FEATHER TOUCH#5 set from about 1948 and still in its original box. This set consists of a lever filled FEATHER TOUCH 500 PEN, STRATOWRITER 500 BALL POINT PEN, and SHEAFFER\'s 300 mechanical pencil, all in burnt umber.All are marked SHEAFFER\'S on the clip. These pens all have wirecap rings(photos 1-5) all are monogrammed (photo 6) and all have barrel or cap imprints which include the price designations (photo 5). All have flawless plastic and flawless gold filled trim. The fountain pen is a lever filler and readily takes up ink. It is 5-1/8\" long. The two tone 14K Feather Touch #5 nib is a fine point, straight with goodiridium and very modest flexibility. It is ready to write. The Stratowriter 500 ballpoint is identical in length to the fountain pen, but slightly wider bodied. It has the nub at the top of the clip to identify it as a ballpoint. As always, the ballpoint refill is dry. The 300 mechanical pencil is 4-15/16\" long and in perfect operating condition. It has what looks like a replacement eraser and extra .036\" in the magazine. The box is an alligatored white cardboard box with loosely attached cloth/paper-hinged lid. Interior has a large ink stain and the elastic retainer is fatigued. Exterior is worn, particularly around the hinge. Still intact.
