This Italian resin statue is Saint Matthew, Apostle and Evangelist : writer of the Gospel of Matthew and is one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. He is thought to have been a tax collector, which made him an enemy of his own Jewish people.This is a lightly colored image of the saint with his symbol of an angel. On his book there is a biblical phrase saying \"Good crop but few harvesters.\"He stands just over 8\" tall from the bottom of the base and is 3 1/4\" wide and about 3 \" deep.The original box is included.
