EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL JOAN MIRO 1960's OFFSET LITHOGRAPH FROM FEMME ET OISEAU.....Artwork in very good condition for its age.Stamped verso on heavy sheet as shown-23.FEMME VI/VI,UNDERNEATH THAT-16 FEVIER 1960 35 X 22 CM.....Full sheet measures 17 5/8" wide by 22" high and the colours are strong and rich.....Bottom left in the image as shown is the initial M,for Miro,Joan Miro (1893-1983) Spain.....This sheet is in great condition.Lithograph on Arches paper, initialled in the plate by Joan Miro, titled/identified on verso, as issued.
From the Miro portfolio Women which included 22 lithographs and text by Claude Simon published by Maeght in 1965. The album, with the original Claude Simon text, that was printed in 50 numbered copies, and 10 non-commerce numbered copies I to X, all signed by the painter and the writer. These copies included the original engraved wood print of Miro for the frontispiece and the title and finished pages, as well as a unique print enhanced with colors by the artist of a composition made from 4 original woodcuts and hand-drawn on vellum Arches by P.A. Benoit.
Completed to print on November 27, 1965, in the workshops of Maeght Editeur.
